About the image: This print features a staggering image taken over the rim of Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano as it erupts, with rubble of a collapsed highway visible within the crater. The image was captured after I navigated to the crater rim at night and stood on a section of old highway extending over the edge. I still recall the feeling of cinders raining down on my shoulders, and the sound they made like a hard rain falling on the ground around me.
